Valley Digital builds and hosts websites for small businesses in Riverside County, California. This policy explains what information we collect on valleydigital.org, why we collect it, and what we do with it.
What we collect
We only collect two kinds of information.
What you send us. If you fill in the contact form on this site, we receive the name, business name, email address, phone number, and message you type into it. If you call or email us directly, we have whatever you tell us. That is all voluntary. You can use this site without giving us anything.
Basic visit statistics. We run our own analytics on our own server rather than using Google Analytics. It records things like which pages were viewed, roughly where in the world the visit came from, which site referred you, and what type of device was used. It does not use advertising cookies, it does not follow you to other websites, and it does not build a profile of you.
What we do with it
- Reply to your enquiry and, if you become a client, deliver the work.
- Send invoices and service messages relating to work you have asked for.
- Understand which pages are useful so we can improve the site.
We do not sell your information. We do not rent or trade it. We do not send marketing email to people who simply filled in the contact form.
Who else is involved
A few outside services necessarily handle some data in order for this site and our business to work:
- Cloudflare sits in front of this website and routes and protects traffic.
- Stripe processes card payments for clients. Card details go to Stripe directly. We never see or store your full card number.
- Google provides the email account we correspond from.
- Fontshare serves the typeface used on this site.
Each of these has its own privacy policy governing what it does with data it handles.
Client websites
When we build and host a website for a client, that site belongs to the client and the client decides what happens with information collected through it. We act on their instructions. If you submitted a form on a website we built for another business, contact that business directly. We are happy to pass a request along if you are not sure who to reach.
How long we keep things
Enquiries are kept while we are in conversation and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back to us. Client records and invoices are kept as long as needed to run the business and meet tax and accounting obligations. Visit statistics are kept in aggregate.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] and we will handle it. There is no form to fill in and no account to create.
California residents have specific rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to request deletion. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front. Use the same email address to make a request.
Security
This site is served over HTTPS. Our servers are private and access controlled. That said, no method of transmitting data over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot promise absolute security.
Children
This site is aimed at business owners. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page.
